certificates can only be obtained from the district

Maintenance and preservation of sites of historical
or cultural interest and ancient monuments within the
local authority area. In many cases this may be
undertaken jointly or wholly by third party
organisations (English heritage, National Trust
etc.). Under the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological
Areas Act 1979: s1. and the Ancient Monuments (Class
Consents) (Scotland) Order 1996 local authorities are
obliged to maintain a list of all monuments in their
area, which is available for public inspection. This

Loan of toys, play equipment and resources
appropriate to individual children's needs and also
for group use. Generally available to parents and
groups working with children in the local area

The Nature Conservation (Scotland) Act 2004 Schedule
7 para 12 obliges local authorities to maintain a
register of National Heritage areas which is
available for public inspection.

Records and
archives - information and advice
|

Archives are original documents produced by official
bodies, societies and individuals that are no longer
in current use. The council may provide a way for
local residents and business to view their archives,
often in a local library.
