provision - assisted purchase scheme
|

The assisted instrument purchase scheme is strictly
for pupils attending community schools who receive
musical tuition as part of the curriculum. This
allows students to purchase new instruments without
paying VAT.

Individual or group tuition may be offered to both
primary and secondary school pupils. Instrumental
tuition also supports a wider musical experience
through participation in ensembles, bands, orchestras
and choirs.

The LEA issues licences for school age children to
perform in the theatre or on television. Before
granting a licence the Education Authority will
liaise with the Headteacher of the child's school to
ensure that the child's education will not suffer
should that licence be granted.

Parents and carers can hire an instrument for their
child to use in music lessons at school.

for school-aged children during school holidays, are

system, offering remaining places on a first come
first served basis.

short trips to local parks or museums to overnight
stays in foreign countries. It is essential that all
such visits are carried out with the highest regard
for the safety and welfare of the pupils taking part
in them.

Pupils from the start of year ten can take part in
work experience which allows pupils to learn about
the world of work and experience the key skills
needed in the workplace. The LEA assists pupils in
finding a placement and offers support and advice for
pupils during their placement.

which provide sporting facilities to local residents.

consumer rights and food safety awareness.

This service provides details of youth clubs as well
as information about a wide range of drop-in
activities for young people in the area.
