performance indicators

Central Government (in England and Wales) or the
Scottish Executive (in Scotland) requires each local
authority to collect and publish a range of
performance indicators reflecting the services the
authority provides. The indicators are verified by an
external auditor from the Audit Commission (England
and Wales) or Audit Scotland.

Executive
forward plan
|
|
Each council is required to provide a forward plan of
key decisions to be made by the executive. The plan
is required to cover a period of four months and to
be updated every month.

|
The local authority is expected to provide
information via it's web site in a way which is
accessible to all citizens and to advise citizens of
the steps it has taken to meet the required
government standards on accessibility
