Welcome to the City of Durham Resident Services
The 1st Durham Cityinfo Centre was opened in August 2003 at Linden Centre, Coxhoe, followed by the refurbished offices at 17 Claypath, Durham City in September 2004 and Annand House, Meadowfield in April 2005.
The staff have been chosen for their personality and customer care skills and will deal with all enquiries. They have undergone a comprehensive training programme and have access to computerised systems which enable them to deal with the majority of day to day enquiries and service requests including council tax, benefits, repairs, housing, rents and refuse.

New Help for People Living with Multiple Sclerosis in Durham

People diagnosed with MS are being urged to take advantage of a special free information day designed to make sure they know about the help that’s on offer. The event, at Abbey Leisure Centre, takes place on Saturday November 8th and offers support and advice as well as complementary therapy and specialist exercise class tasters.

The winner of the annual Community Citizen Awards was announced today at a special reception at the Town Hall. The Mayor of Durham, Cllr Grenville Holland, presented Rhona Foster of Waterhouses with her award and a cheque for £500 for a community project of her choice.

It was as good as it gets for the Men’s Group (11-16 year group) at the World Championships in Glasgow yesterday (Sunday 5th October). The team won the gold medal and World Championship title for team GB in a nail-biting final.

Freeman’s Quay joining celebration of childrens right to play

A ‘Playday’ event will take place at Freeman’s Quay, next Wednesday 6 August. Organised by City of Durham’s Leisure Services, activities on offer include swimming, dance, football, cricket and much more. Although fully inclusive, children and young people up to the age of 25 who are disabled are particularly encouraged to attend to take advantage of the new facilities.

When the City of Durham Launched it’s ‘Swim for a Shilling’ week at the opening of Freeman’s Quay last Friday everyone knew it would be popular. What no one predicated was how popular. Since the 5p swim deal began at 10am on Friday 18th July over 8,000 people have taken the plunge.
