Recycling - New Kerbside Collection Scheme
As from 1st April 2008 City of Durham will be introducing a new Kerbside Recycling Collection Scheme with our new partners Greencycle PLC. This will include the recycling of plastics and cardboard along the paper, glass and cans.
We will provide a reusable green recycling bag to all domestic properties within the District. This will be in addition to the green recycling box already in use. Collections of both box and bag will be made on a fortnightly basis on your designated collection day. This will be the same days as your refuse bin and there will be no change to your collection point. Download new leaflet
Important Change - From 1st April, paper should be placed into the green bag and not the green box
If you are unsure as to which day your collection is, please click on the appropriate letter for your street to find a list of which day your refuse collection would be and which alternate week your recycling collection would be. Also below is a list of which dates correspond to the respective "alternate week" for your kerbside recycling collection. Please note collections over the Christmas and Easter Period may differ, and a note of these should be attached to your refuse bin, the current up-to-date list of these collections is set out below. Collections may be disrupted due to inclement weather. We will endeavour to collect when possible. You can also get in touch via the Council's Refuse contact telephone number: (0191) 301 8669.
