The media policy is:
- Open
- Transparent
- Honest
- Proactive and assertive
- Helpful to the media in facilitating photographic opportunities, interview
- Available 24/7
The Public Relations section will:
- Strive to maintain the reputation of the council
- Respond quickly and effectively to media enquiries
- Respect the confidential nature of information which is retained by the council on staff and residents and other matters which are officially specified as confidential
- Review the media relations service on an annual basis with a media survey
