Planning enforcement

Planning Enforcement is responsible for investigating potential breaches of planning control, for example, development without planning permission or breaches of conditions associated with a planning application. Not all complaints are upheld, however, the enforcement team will investigate all relevant breaches and advise any complainant of the progress and resolution.

Making a complaint

Please let us know if you think that someone may be doing something that does not have planning permission. Unless you agree to it we will not reveal your identity while we investiage the complaint.

How we deal with complaints

We take unlawful development seriously. We will do all we can to resolve your concerns as quickly as possible. We will explore all the solutions available to us. If necessary, as a last resort, we take formal legal action. Cases will be proritised depending upon the seriousness of their impact.
