New leisure centre to open 18th July
Wednesday 25th June 2008
Freeman’s Quay is being delivered to the City of Durham on time and on budget. At its heart lies a state of the art 25m, 8 lane competition/leisure pool complete with floating floor to cater for all ages and abilities.
There is also a learner pool, again, with floating floor, a tepidarium, a multi use sports hall and fantastic mirror walled dance studio. Even a healthy food court and cyber café area.
The building houses a magnificent 130 station lifestyle fitness gym that will be manned by City of Durham fitness experts who will be on hand to give personal advice and support to users.
The centre hosts a breath-taking array of public art works and a unique mix of green designs. The whole complex is deigned to maximise natural light, with unique features that also ensure energy and water waste are minimised.
Customer care is a top priority and a specially trained team of hand picked staff will be there to welcome you.
Freeman's Quay opens of the 18th of July with a week of public celebrations offering everyone a swim for a shilling, or just 5p if you like that better.
Following a short opening ceremony the doors will be open from late morning and the public can see for themselves exactly what we have been telling you about for the last year.
The full timetable of activities on offer at Freemans Quay will be available soon. For general enquiries please ring 0191 301 8306 and for leisure club membership information please visit Lifestyle Fitness
