The Team Fronting the Nations Newest Leisure Centre

Thrusday June 12th 2008

The new team to front Freeman’s Quay when it opens next month is now complete.

It's a team that has been hand-picked by centre manager Kay Smith. 'The whole recruitment drive has been unique and fantastically successful with more than 250 people applying for jobs at Freeman's Quay. As the team are at the heart of the facility it is our priority to ensure that they are trained extensively and to the highest levels so they provide excellent customer care for everyone who visits Freeman's Quay.'

The 26 new leisure assistants and 3 new leisure officers are now part- way through training programmes that will total 160 hours!

One of Kay's new Leisure Officers was a member of the winning freestyle relay team at the Swimming World Championships in Japan in 2001. Charlotte Dallas, 24, has represented Great Britain many times and was also a gold medal winner at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Edinburgh in 2002. She has a vast knowledge and experience in sport and fitness and is also a qualified swim coach.'I believe enthusiasm and motivation holds the key to success and, with a like-minded team, I know customers will receive a high quality service from staff who care.'

Alongside Charlotte is Paul Usher. With 7 years experience in the City of Durham's Leisure Centres Paul says his wide ranging experience will pay dividends. 'I have the local knowledge it takes to ensure Freeman's Quay customer care constantly evolves with the times and changing needs. I am very much looking forward to the new challenge.'
