School receives awards from football legend

Each player received an award for their hard work and commitment and there were also awards for player of the year, player's player of the year, most committed player and the player with the best attitude to the game.

Browney School team is managed by Mark English and Lindsey Gibson who both work as Leisure assistants at Meadowfield Leisure Centre and work with the football club on a voluntary basis.

'The team have come on leaps and bounds over the year and we've enjoyed every minute of it. It was great that Peter took the time out of his busy schedule to come and present the awards. We are looking forward to next season where the hard work will start again' said Mark.

The football team played their matches on the Astroturf pitch at Meadowfield Leisure Centre against teams from Brandon, Langley Moor, New Brancepeth, Neville's Cross and Bearpark.
