Nearly 400 people lined up for Durham's first Big Fun Family Run which took place on Sunday 26 October with a flurry of registrations in the run up to the event.
Competitors young and old took to the riverbanks and streets of Durham for the 4km run in beautiful sunshine and against a backdrop of glorious autumn colours.
Jill Wood, event organiser, was delighted with the turnout. "It's been a great morning. Everyone has been in high spirits and it was great to see so many families taking part, having fun and enjoying the surroundings. We are hoping that we can make this an annual event."
The run was funded by the City of Durham's Active Durham initiative which is providing a year of free sport and exercise activities for people who live in the Durham City district.
