Welcome to the City of Durham
City of Durham Council is committed to encouraging consultation and involvement between ourselves and local people. Transparency and accountability are key to this aim and because of this we will publish details, on the website, of strategies, plans, policies and initiatives to ensure that local people are empowered to play a full role within their communities, and so that they are able to participate in and influence the decision-making processes which affect their lives.
Our aim is to provide access to all Council Services at one location, a one stop shop where customers can access information, advice and assistance. Enquiries are dealt with by highly trained, friendly staff in pleasant, comfortable surroundings. If we can not deal with an enquiry at first point of contact we will take ownership on behalf of the customer and keep them informed of progress until the matter is resolved.
